A Truly Stellar Experience at Lunar We had the pleasure of enjoying lunch at Lunar, and it was an experience to remember. From the moment we stepped in, the ambience set the tone—elegant, calm, and thoughtfully designed to reflect both modern sophistication and a warm, welcoming vibe. The food was nothing short of outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor, showcasing a real commitment to quality and creativity. You can tell there’s genuine passion behind the menu, and the use of locally sourced ingredients really shines through. A special mention goes to our server, Sam, who took excellent care of us from start to finish. Friendly, knowledgeable, and perfectly attentive—Sam made our visit even more enjoyable. Lunar strikes that perfect balance between fine dining and relaxed charm. We’re already looking forward to coming back—this place is a gem in every sense.

The gentlemen who greet here do a superb job telling you about the history and how luna came to be, and why ‘luna’. The food was absolutely delicious we both had three corses and a bottle of champagne to share, the only thing that wasn’t quite up to standard was drinks service just could have done with being slightly more attentive but apart from that it was a lovely evening. I would love to see some of the old lithographers from Wedgewoods prime days be called out to, to perhaps paint some designs on the tables perhaps including the word luna, as I took photos I realised the branding is very minimal and it was almost difficult to shows where I was unless I included the ‘Luna’. The restaurant it’s a great addition to our local area would be lovely to see more people in experiencing our heritage.

Great location, food and atmosphere. The staff were a little pressed to serve all guests, but not a huge problem. Very good value for money. Lunch and a visit to Wedgwood :-)

Wedding anniversary meal for me and the wife. Had been told it was very good, so was expecting the food to match the anticipation. The staff are very pleasant and helpful with good knowledge of the dishes etc. We dined quite early at 7 pm, and the restaurant wasn't particularly busy at this point. We ordered wine for our meal, this isn't cheap but it's not the place to go if you are on a budget. We had water supplied to the table, and the food order was taken in a reasonable time. I went for the mackerel for starter and the fillet steak for my main. My wife had chicken and ham hick terrine for starter and the duck for he main. All the food was very tasty, but some items in both of our main courses were slightly different from what was on the menu. I understand that the supply of fresh produce can vary, but we didn't have anyone inform us of the changes. For example, my wife's dish stated heritage carrots. But no carrots at all were on the dish. This isn't going to be or be a reason to give a poor review, but when the restaurant is setting a standard. This is something that needs to be communicated. It didn't spoil our meal, but it's a pint worth noting. We both had a dessert, and we both enjoyed this. I had the caramel tart, it was not what I expected but very nice just the same. My wife had a panna cotta. Again, she enjoyed the dish. Once finished, we were offered the opportunity to see the secret lounge. This was a nice little bar tucked away at the back of the restaurant. We had a cocktail each before we left, it was not busy but again it was early. Things that we feel are not quite as good as other places we've been. The tawny, for example, offers you free bread and flavoured butter to the table whilst you wait for your meals. Lunar doesn't. The scenery is not anything to look at. The restaurant is nice. But it still has the feel of an industrial place. It was enjoyable, and the food is good. But I'm not desperate to return as I feel I've had better experience elsewhere. Price wise, we spent over 200 for a three course meal with a bottle of wine and a cocktail each. I don't mind that as long as you feel it's worth it, it could have been better.

Lovely Christmas meet-up with friends. The food as expected was amazing. Professional service throughout, which was relaxed, but that isn't always a bad thing as it allows time to fully enjoy the food and atmosphere. Our waitress was really lovely. The venue is stunning, industrial with eclectic artwork, and wedgewood on display. Wedgewood was also used throughout the service, adding another layer to the experience. Local brewery drinks are available. I made a special request with my main, which was granted, and I appreciated that an awful lot. Thank you. The Sunday and festive menu is good value for money, and I very much hope to return for the tasting menu someday.

We’d always wanted to try fine dining, and visiting Lunar for a special Valentines Birthday meal, it exceeding all expectations! The night began with a very warm welcome, and the knowledgeable and inviting theatre, of Lee the manager, taking us through to enjoy pre dinner cocktails, before our meal. From there, the evening just continued to impress. The cocktails were incredible, with flavours and attention to detail that make up the fine dining experience. It’s no wonder Michelin have this venue on their radar. Our server Callum was so attentive and a great addition to the hosting of this really special place. To have this on our doorstep, steeped in history, celebrating it seamlessly in this gorgeous venue, and offering an experience like no other, made it truly beautiful. Like a true Stokie, I ordered a side of triple cooked chips to share. They were mostly ignored, on account of every single mouthful of the three course meal being a treasure trove of flavours, that we mused excitedly over all night long. We’d never tasted food quite like it. Seasoning is of course a personal preference, but as diners, to not add a single morsel of salt and pepper to these meals, spoke volumes to the chef’s skill. Every inch of Lunar is a triumph for the senses. Glorious displays of the great pioneers of the Pottery industry surround you, local artists adorn the walls, and the heritage is celebrated in abundance, just to add to the spectacular experience. Even the subtle music bent my ear, reminiscent of the disco era of New York’s Studio 54. If you can save up, like we did, this really is a treat I can’t recommend enough. We came home with that feeling you get when you’ve truly treated yourself, like a spa break, a holiday, a once in a lifetime treat. We said “once in a lifetime”, but we’ve already planned to be back again this year.

Went to Luna yesterday for my birthday meal & it was really exceptional. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable. The manager Craig was so lovely & sociable, he gets involved greeting and serving customers, you wouldn’t even think he is the manager. The atmosphere was also an icing on the cake, would defiantly recommend and would go again. Best restaurant we have definitely been to that’s near stone. Usually we go to Manchester for the nice restaurants, but we were over the moon to have discovered this little gem for sure
